Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to have a College Board Account to take an AP Exam? YES!!!! There is no way UNI can order you an exam unless you have a student account. Go to apstudents.collegeboard.org
Does my AP Exam count as college credits? Possibly. It depends on the college you would like to go to. Please check with your college of choice
Can I choose a different date or time to take my exam? No, all tests are given at the same date and time world wide. College Board creates the schedule and we have to follow it.
Can I take an exam for a class that I am not enrolled in? SOMETIMES. Check the specific information for the type of student you are (UNI, IUSD, or outside). Some classes are available, while others are not.
Can I take an exam at another school? YES. Please look at the above information "AP Exams offered at other IUSD schools"
I have 2 exams at the exact same time. What do I do? Contact Mrs. Rohrer Ng at University High School and she can help you take the test at a later date.
Can I take 2 tests on the same day? Yes. As long as they are not at the same time AND they are at the same location. There is no way that you can take a test in the morning at one school and make it in time to take an afternoon exam at another school.
If I am not prepared, can I choose to take the test at a later time? No
Can I take a later exam if I have a conflict, like a school CIF championship game scheduled? Yes, but you will have to make arrangements with Mrs. Rohrer Ng before Feb. 26th.
What if I am really sick on exam day? Please contact Mrs. Rohrer Ng immediately. You can take the exam at a later date with proof of a Doctor's note.
Are there refunds? Partially. College Board charges $40 for any canceled exams. IUSD is offering refunds minus the $40 up until February 26th. After Feb. 26th no refunds will be issued. If you would like to request a refund, please fill out this FORM.
IF you have purchased an AP exam and you want to refund it prior to November 8th, this will be the only time to receive a full refund. You MUST email Mrs. Rohrer Ng by November 8th.
How long are the exams? Most exams will be between 4 - 4 1/2 hours from check in time. This time includes check in, directions, collection of material and a break.
IUSD charges more for the exams than College Board charges, where does the money go? The additional funds cover the cost of hiring proctors, equipment and supplies for the exam AND it goes back to the AP student in the form of teacher training, technology in the classroom, supplies in the classroom , etc.
What do I bring to the Exam? Please check back in April for detailed instructions.
Still have questions? Please contact Mrs. Rohrer Ng
