Dave Tomczak -Director of Health and Safety and Instructor, FTI-MAR

Our Instructor Spotlight this month recognizes Dave Tomczak,  Director of Health and Safety at FTI-MAR and President of iFTI's Environmental Health and Safety Committee.  Dave is an OSHA 500 Master Instructor who has expertise spanning several OSHA certification courses.    In June of 2025, he received his Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Health Construction Safety from Columbia Southern University.  In addition,  he holds several other industry recognized certifications including GSP by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. Most recently, Dave received his Teaching and Learning Practitioner (TLP) certification from America Council for Construction Education (ACCE).  

Dave is committed to ensuring every learner not only understands safety protocols but embraces them as a core part of their daily work.  His sessions are relevant and grounded in experience.  He creates a learning environment where the participants feel confident asking questions, sharing experiences, and applying what they’ve learned immediately. Dave consistently goes above and beyond to support the success of his students, fostering a culture of accountability, awareness, and continuous improvement. His passion for the construction trades and dedication to protecting workers make him an invaluable asset to the International Finishing Trades community.
