Studio Code : ARCH1120 Studio Design 1BSemester : Oct/Nov 2022Studio Tutors : Sir Ahmad Muna'iem Project : A Sensory Art Installation Site : Bagan Lalang Peninsular Malaysia Brief : The duration of the project is four weeks. In Project 1a, which is an individual project, students will design a Sensory Art Installation that is affected by the surrounding site context. The aim is to create a structure that can be used by the user without any singularly functioning elements and establish a connection or harmony with the natural surroundings where it is placed. In Project 1b, which is a group project, students will conduct a site study and identify site factors through an intensive study during the site visit. The analysis/synthesis gained from the site study will provide insights into the design that students will be producing later. The site study output includes an A1 portrait format board, diagrams, photos, hand-drawing sketches, and rendering technique to illustrate the site data, analysis, and synthesis. In the end, students should be able to generate design ideas with contextual issues. The submission output of Project 1a includes an A1 portrait poster format board, diagrams, sketches, physical models, and a series of photos showing the journey of the experiential spaces.
