ON-SITE CONSTRUCTION REPORT (20%)
In a Group of 4-5, conduct an On-Site Investigation to observe the Site Preparation, Earthwork & Foundation and Retaining Wall processes and equipment that has been set up within a specified Construction site. You will be required to visit a real Construction Site for this task.
GENERAL SITE DOCUMENTATION (to be acquired by each group)
- Project Description
- Project Consultants & their job scope
- Survey Plan (if available)
- Project Drawings
TASK(S):
- Conduct Site Investigation based on your topic to collect data on & off-site. This can be done through these methods:
- Observation on site during site visit
- Recording of site - photographs, documents, etc
- Interview with relevant consultant(s) & site workers
- Reference on available site documentation & reports
- Compile your findings in the specified category for each group.
- Provide explanation of your findings, with reference to the lectures provided in class
- Use additional references on the internet or books to validate your findings & explanation
- Provide a Reflective Conclusion which includes - lesson learnt, recommendation and & aspiration for the fieldwork
FORMAT OF SUBMISSION:
- 1x Slide Presentation for Class Presentation
- PowerPoint/Google Slide/Canva, whichever suitable for each group
- DIRECT COPY PASTE from slides or webpages are NOT ALLOWED
- Page number is unlimited, but must cover each section thoroughly, but more importantly - informative. The amount of information provided for each section of the topic must be comprehensive, but not excessive.
- Composition style and font type/size must be standardize for all slides within each group
- All additional/external reference sources must be provided in the last 'REFERENCES' slide
- 1x PDF version of the Presented Slide for submission.
