About the Host Institute

Established in 1996, G H Raisoni College of Engineering [GHRCE] is a premier & Empowered Autonomous institution in the central India imparting a holistic technical education to the students residing not only in India but also international students. The institution has always been ranked amongst well-performing institutions by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), MHDRD, and the Government of India Currently GHRCE is ranked in the band 151-200 in Engineering Category & 51-100 in Innovation Category PAN India as declared by NIRF Ranking 2023. GHRCE has been ranked under the Platinum category for Best Industry-linked institution by the AICTE-CII Survey for the last six years. Since 2015, the Institute has been ranked consistently among the top 10 patent filers as per the Indian Patent Office Report. GHRCE’s Institution Innovation Council ranked in 4 Star Top Performer as declared by the Ministry of Education and MHRD Government of India in 2022. GHRCE ranked 27th in India level and 3rd in the State level by the Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF) under top private Engineering colleges in India in 2023. GHRCE received Sustainable Institutions of India-Green Institutional Ranking 2023 in the “Gold Band” with Grade “A”.GHRCE was selected as one of the youngest institutions for implementing the Technical Education Quality Improvement Program of MHRD with the assistance of the World Bank. The institution has an Internal Quality Assurance Cell [IQAC] that takes care of all academic activities on campus. The institution is graded A++ (3.55/4) grade by NAAC during 3rd cycle in 2023 and almost all programs are Tier-I accredited by NBA.

About the Center of Excellence

The Center of Excellence for Astrophysics and Cosmology at GHRCE, Nagpur aims to consolidate and amplify our capabilities in the field of astrophysics and cosmology, fostering cutting-edge research, innovative teaching methods, and interdisciplinary collaboration which would back react on the quality of education and meet the social obligations of the College. The CEAC would act as a catalyst for pushing GHRCE, Nagpur in the trajectory to become a world-class institution in the view of the agenda of NEP 2020. Astrophysics and cosmology are dynamic fields that have witnessed remarkable advancements in recent years. Establishing a dedicated Center of Excellence will allow us to harness the full potential of our faculty and resources, creating a hub for groundbreaking research and providing a platform for collaboration with other esteemed institutions and organizations.

The City of Nagpur

Popularly known as Orange City, Nagpur is located at the geographical Centre of India. In fact, the Zero Mile Stone of India is in this city. Nagpur is the second capital of Maharashtra State and is well connected by air, rail and national highways with major cities of the country. Nagpur has a large number of central and state government offices, educational institutions, and upcoming software companies. It is surrounded by a number of large and reputed industrial estates, and several tourist spots such as Ramtek, Sevagram and the Pench & Tadoba tiger forest reserves.
