Join us for a two-day professional learning experience focused on building high-quality, three-dimensional STEELS assessments that support all learners. On Day 1, participants will explore what it means to assess science through multiple dimensions (DCIs, CCCs, and SEPs), examine how phenomena-based tasks drive student sense-making and reasoning, and evaluate assessments for both equity and rigor. On Day 2, participants will shift to the bigger picture — exploring how different types of assessments (formative, summative, benchmark, and state-level) work together across a learning sequence to build a coherent, consistent system that improves student learning rather than simply checking a box. Participants will leave with practical tools, deeper understanding of STEELS expectations, and action steps to bring back to their classrooms and schools.
