The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act provides that students with disabilities have access to the general education curriculum, and Every Student Succeeds Acts includes all students with disabilities in accountability measures, including statewide assessments. For students with the most significant cognitive disabilities, their educators are challenged to prioritize academic content and to present it in a meaningful and relevant way that is aligned to grade-level curriculum and accessible.
