Flippity.net - This FREE resource allows you to create your own games to use in the classroom and online! Use the available templates or create your own. Games can be useful tools to support learning, enhance practice, and add some fun to the session! 

Factile - Sign up for a FREE account to access some really great games that can be used for lesson review  

Gimkit - Free website to help you find premade or create your own quizzes. Very useful for in class practice/review or homework. Very useful for virtual tutors!

Mentimeter - Free resource with easy-to-build presentations, interactive Polls, Quizzes, and Word Clouds. Laptop, tablet, and smart phone friendly!

Adult Basic Education (ABE) 

Kahn Academy: Kahn Academy has great videos and activities for Math, History, Civics and Politics, and Grammar. Use in class or create a Tutor/Student classroom on the website to send supplemental work home with your learners. *This website is designed for k-12, but there is a lot of great content for all levels of adult learners to support in class lesson plans. This is a PDE approved website for supplemental resources. Check out the Khan Academy App for smartphones, too.

Read Works: ReadWorks.org is a great resource for both ABE and ESL learners. It offers supplemental reading and activities in an online classroom setting. Reading passages and other features can be printed out, too! Features include audio, activities, and a great range of skill level and topics to explore in class or as homework.

Newsela.com: Newsela is another great resource for both ABE and ESL learners. It offers supplemental reading and activities online. Features include audio, activities, and a great range of skill level and topics to explore in class or as homework.

FreeRice.com – Great Practice Activities for Different subjects. Participating in these activities also fosters the donation of food to in need communities worldwide. Per their website, “For each correct answer, 10 grains of rice are donated through the World Food Programme to help end hunger.”

Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL) - These OWL resources will help with the writing process: (pre-writing (invention), developing research questions and outlines, composing thesis statements, and proofreading). There are sections on grammar, punctuation, mechanics, and more. 

Math.com, The World of Math Online: Free online study resources for practicing math from fractions and decimals to calculus. This site is designed by grade level and is targeted more for school aged students. Information is valuable but is only available in online format.

Secret Worlds, The Universe Within: Learn about measurement and scientific notation by comparing the distances of the natural world.

Jefferson Lab Science Games and Puzzles: Science knowledge games, puzzles, and other activities.

Micron.com’s Math In the Workplace – math problems based on job skills needed in specific professions. Fantastic resource to align in-class exercises with CCRS standards set forth by the PDE

Micron.com’s Lesson Plans – for STEM related lessons (and some pre-developed presentations) listed by subject and K-12 level of difficulty. These are designed for large classrooms, so adjustment to individual class needs may be required. Spectacular resource for ideas.

Digital Skills Library - The Digital Skills Library is an open repository of free learning resources designed to help all adult learners develop the digital skills needed to achieve their personal, civic, educational, and career goals.   The library is managed by the EdTech Center @ World Education. All resources within this library have been curated by educators to align to the Seattle Digital Equity Initiative Digital Skills Framework. 

US Career Institute - English Grammar Resource Bank - This site page provides a list of Grammar and Writing resources fro all levels of ABE and ESL students. Use them as needed. This site is specific to the U.S. Career Institute, which is an educational institution that offers degrees and certificates in a variety of industries/disciplines.

News For You Online - A great resource for current event articles - especially if you work with beginning to low intermediate ESL student. The resource is very smart phone friendly! Students may have the password to use for homework. NOTE: this is a paid subscription and requires a password to access. There is no login required for this resource, only a password. The Password is: 370549 

engVid - Free resource with 1770 video lessons by experienced native-speaker teachers. Classes cover English grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, IELTS, TOEFL, and more. Subscribe to Youtube videos for your favorite instructor, too!

Quill - Quill's nonprofit mission is to now build both reading and writing skills through free, OER content across the curriculum. Over the coming years, we will be building a library of free ELA, social studies, and science activities that engage students in deeper thinking through writing prompts that provide immediate feedback.  Good supplemental assignments.

The Mixxer - a free virtual language exchange site using Skype by Dickinson College, The Mixxer is designed to connect language learners around the world so that everyone is both student and teacher. Signup for free to find a language partner. Help them practice your native language while they help you practice theirs.

Mango Languages – this is a great supplemental resource for all learners who have a Library Card through the Franklin County Library System. Log on and join in! There are many language learning experiences to choose from.

USA Learns* – Includes a variety of English Language (reading, writing, vocab, grammar, pronunciation, listening, life skills, etc.) and EL Civics resources and activities (no cost, but account registration is required) This resource also has phone/tablet apps available for ESL students to use outside of class!

Digital Literacy Standards with Correlations: This fillable pdf is a useful tool for digital skills in a pair or tutor group! Use the framework as a reflective tool to ascertain the current and subsequent levels of learners, areas of content that aligns with learning plans, and as a tool to measure needed progress in specific areas of growth. 

PA Adult Education Resources (PAAER) Tutor Page: This page is chock full of great tutor resources that are State-approved! Check out the great resources and learning opportunities, and check often. New information is added regularly!

PA Adult Education Resources (PAAER) PD Portal: This site offers everything from initial basic tutor training to lesson plans and standards supported frameworks. This site requires the login in and password which you received during your tutor onboarding process. If you don't already have a login for this site, see your program coordinator for assistance to receive one

PA Adult Ed Resources Volunteer Tutor and Classroom Aide Webinar Series (2021 -2023) - These webinars are designed to address and provide solutions for common questions about classroom management, instruction practices, and curriculum supplements.
