IU1 Camp Tech 2024
Camp Tech is a summer camp for students entering grades 3-8 in the fall of 2024. Students will explore science, technology, engineering, math, computer science and more with new and innovative technology! Students will rotate through 4 sessions each day, beginning at 9:00AM and ending at 2:00PM. Sessions fill quickly and space is limited to 48 participants at each site. Make sure to register early! Students are asked to bring a bagged lunch.

CAMP COST INFORMATION
- Camp Tech Cost: $175 per student, $140 for each additional student within the same house hold.

Sessions:
Programming AI with Scratch: Learn to program AI (artificial intelligence) using Scratch to create unique programs! Scratch is designed to teach logical and computational thinking skills, fundamental principles of programming and to be a first exposure to object-oriented programming. Pathways to Innovation: Exploring Engineering Careers: Students will be introduced to several engineering career areas–aerospace, biomedical, environmental, civil, and mechanical. Students will have a broader understanding of the diverse career paths available in engineering and the skills required to pursue this career.
Robotics Exploration with LEGO Mindstorms EV3: Students will unleash their creativity and problem-solving skills as they build and program their own robots, fostering teamwork, innovation, and STEM learning. Resource: https://www.lego.com/en-us/categories/robots-for-kids
RoboBuilders: Explore, Create, Innovate : In this class, students will have the opportunity to explore the world of robotics and makerspace activities using Hummingbird Robotics Kits. Through hands-on projects, students will learn about basic robotics concepts, coding, and engineering principles while designing and building their own interactive creations. CANCELLATION POLICY
Any cancellation prior to two weeks before the start of a camp session will result in the return of $125 of the $175 fee. Any cancellation less than two weeks before or after the start of the camp session will result in the complete forfeit of the camper’s registration fee.
BEHAVIOR POLICY
Intermediate Unit 1's Camp Tech reserves the right to remove disruptive students from the program. In this unlikely event, the parent(s) will be required to pick up their student immediately. No refund will be provided.
TECHNOLOGY POLICY
Personal electronic devices (iPods, iPads, Kindles, Nintendo, etc.) are not permitted during the week of Camp Tech, unless otherwise noted by the instructor. Cell phones are the ONLY exception however they must remain stored in the student's backpack, etc. only to be used in a case of emergency. If a student is using technology inappropriately the item will be kept aside by an instructor for the remainder of the day. Multiple infractions will result in the student being dismissed from Camp Tech. No refund will be provided.
