About Me

Currently I am pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science in Biology through the Purdue School of Science. I am not currently minoring in anything at the moment, though I may consider to minor in a foreign language at some point. I currently hold an Associate of General Studies degree from Ivy Tech Community College.

I decided to pursue the major I am currently completing because I felt it would provide the best foundation for my aspiration to become a physician scientist working in the field of Genetic manipulation and research. I aspired to have a strong foundation in chemistry while completing a science degree in my primary field of study. The dual degree pathway allowed me to accomplish this goal by integrating me into both the chemical and biological communities. Through this degree I have found a strong affinity for chemistry, and I am glad I am in my program.

As a team member I bring some relatively valuable skills to the table. Primarily I am ambitious and a critical thinker. I strive to complete tasks to the best of my ability in the most efficient way possible. Fortunately, in my field of study that is exactly what researchers intend to accomplish. I believe that I work well cooperatively and will be a valuable asset during my time in the Clinkenbeard Lab.

I have volunteered extensively thorough my time in Boy Scouts including the completion of my Eagle Scout project where I renovated a local park in a project about a year in length from start to finish. Additionally, I volunteered at the New Albany Floyd County Animal Control and Shelter for roughly two years. I was then eventually hired there where I worked for a year and a half as an animal care attendant. I then moved on to college where I did volunteer work with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful planting trees in local Indianapolis neighborhoods. Overall, these experiences have taught me to be a good team player and to think critically about my work and relationships with others. They have strengthened my knowledge and skill base, and have allowed me to grow in different areas through each experience.
