Internship Goals?

Learn to prioritize and organize my time in the internship

• Set up a fixed plan with teams of times that I will show up to work

• Prepare a schedule for the week

• Reduce distractions such as social media, streaming services

• Create a list of priorities and focus on those

Be able to apply topics from an Internship in real-life settings

• Pay attention to details about the roles and tasks that exist in the Internship site

• Be prepared for any event at the Internship program as if it was my first real-work experience

• Analytically think about habits from this experience, that can be carried on to tasks in a real-work setting

Communicate effectively with my co-workers and finding innovative ways to perform a task

• Stay on top of emails and requests from coordinators

• Ask if I have any questions or ask for advice, do not be scared or think that I am less just because I am asking

• Communicate my concerns and ideas

To achieve these certain goals I will need skills such as critical thinking, leadership, professionalism and problem-solving.

Career Goals?

What's your plan?

The plan is to complete graduate school. I fell in love with health and sciences as I was researching more about diseases my family members had. Medical School was my plan roughly a year ago, but I do not see much impact of being a doctor. I want to be able to impact in a global way.

How sure are you?

From one to ten I am at a six of how confident I am with my goals. I still need more shadowing to be really content with where I want to go after college, I have been reaching out to Physician assistants, watching videos, talking to people about their journeys and careers in order to figure out if I am in the right place.

How can you continue to explore?

Continue to reach out to people, faculty and shadow the people I work with. Attending informational workshops with visitors from different areas. Set up appointments with the Preps-office, LHSI and the Honors college so they can further help me with my decision.

How did this internship help you in your future career?

This internship didn't necessarily affect my career goals much, it did help me assert that I do like to work independently and in groups. I have both skills. However, I do see myself doing something different than in being a doctor/PA.
