During my time at my Capstone internship I was tasked to create a social media presence for The Department of Campus and Community Wellbeing. Due to the department being only a couple of years old, they did not have the social media presence to reach the younger generation of college students that are enrolling at this time.
I created an Instagram page to highlight what the organization is, who they serve, and how they can help. The page also highlights events that are happening on campus, what the Friends of the University Food Pantry is doing, and wellbeing facts to help college students feel their best.
I became very well versed in Canva Operations, as this is what I created most of the posts from. I also learned more about social media outreach and how to reach the crowd we were trying to get to see our posts.
During my time at my Capstone internship I was given the opportunity to help with operations with the Friends of the University, Purdue Fort Wayne Food Pantry.
My time with the Pantry gave me insight into what it takes to keep a non-profit organization running in order to serve not only on-campus students but community members as well.
I assisted with daily operations, stock, client satisfaction, and grant research. The goal upon the end of my internship was to leave the Pantry with a plan to keep up with grants and scholarships so they did not run out of funds to provide the food to the community.
