I am a biology B.S. major completing my sophomore year. With this major I am working to get into the IU School of Medicine starting the 2025 fall semester. I am working through to figure out where I would like to specialize in, but leaning more towards doing cosmetic surgery. I am looking to achieve getting my minors in chemistry to get all perspectives of science/medicine to prepare me for the future in the medical field.
Working in many different environments I have picked up on many skills. My biggest strength is communication. Working in a team it is very important to have all inputs of the members and what they may be doing. Another important component is adaption and problem solving. I strive to fit into the environment that I am in to effectively and efficiently work for what needs to be done. Through this things may change/not go to plan. Working with children who face learning challenges really taught me how to solve many problems that may come unexpectedly. Experiences like working at previous jobs being in a multitude of positions such as, assistant manager, shift lead, and an intern, I have learned that from all sides it is very different but have one theme in common. If one piece of the puzzle doesn't communicate/work together than all sides of the
I have gained much knowledge of who I am through the experiences I have gained. One experience that stands out to me was being an advocate for a club, Indiana Sexual Assault Awareness Campaign. This has shown me the strength to help others through very difficult times, and has also shown me that I can stand out to make change when it is needed. It was a very empowering moment for me and a great gain of my leadership skills. Leadership and communication skills are very important for my internship as taking accountability and getting the work done allows for all parts of the research to come together. Another experience where I gained many of my communication skills was through softball. This sport contained thirteen years of my life and immensely made an impact on who I am and allowed me to gain many even more communication and problem solving skills. This can be related as in my internship there are many different kinds of problems that are encountered daily. Having a strong sense of how to approach and solve what may occur is needed when looking at data that is needed and where to get it from.
