My LHSI Application Long-Term Goal:
After graduation from my undergraduate degree at IUPUI, I plan to attend medical school. My long-term career goal is to become an obstetrician-gynecologist (OB-GYN).
How has this changed?
As you might have noticed reading through my ePortfolio, I have switched my intention from Pre-Med to Pre-PA. However, through this switch I have remained interested in studying Women's medicine. In my LHSI application, I touched on my deep-rooted value of feminism and how I would like to continue with this cause in my future career. I ultimately switched to PA because I much prefer the work-life balance that the Physician Assistant position can grant me as opposed to becoming an OB-GYN. As a PA, I would love to work in an OB-GYN office and still provide services for women needed medical assistance.
What can I do for the rest of my time at IUPUI to reach my long-term goal?
Because of LHSI, I have been connected to many great doctors who I would love to shadow to gain experience that will set me apart on my PA-school application. I would love to be able to continue working with these connections and build stronger bonds with them. When I applying to PA school, they can help me reach my future goals by providing me with necessary materials such as letters of recommendation.
