On behalf of the Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD) Department of Pediatric Dentistry faculty, residents and staff, I am excited that you are interested in training at our residency program! The decision to further your education is a difficult one, and even more so is the decision where you decide to pursue that education. The goal of the Indiana University Department of Pediatric Dentistry Residency program is to prepare residents in 24 months for a future providing primary and comprehensive preventive, therapeutic care for infants, children, adolescence, and those with special health care through both didactic and clinical instruction. The program follows the principles and guidelines set forth in the Commission on Dental Accreditation Standards for Advanced Dental Education Programs in Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s Reference Manual of Pediatric Dentistry.
The Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program offers one of the best clinical and didactic training programs in the United States. Our department is home to the world-renowned McDonald, Avery, and Dean Pediatric Dentistry textbook as well as many recognized leaders in pediatric dental education. Clinical training occurs in our newly expanded ambulatory clinic as well as at the US News and World Report nationally ranked Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health.
Indianapolis is a beautiful city that offers a wide variety of activities including being a sports mecca, home to the world’s largest children’s museum, and numerous cultural trails. I invite you to consider a program that will provide you with an outstanding education and future as a pediatric dentist with worldwide network of alumni support. Feel free to email gradpedo@iupui.edu for additional information.
