We aim to bring together researchers and practitioners to explore the benefits and challenges of designing child-AI systems with the tensions between playful and ethical design in mind.
The invited keynote speakers, Dr. Angela Colvert and Dr. Kruakae Pothong, will introduce and facilitate the use of the ``Playful by Design'' tool, including its play boards to engage participants in considering the tensions, complexities, and possibilities of designing for a variety of playful, yet ethical and (child) rights-respecting systems.
This hands-on workshop invites researchers at all stages to engage in reflections on how to balance competing design priorities with ethical and rights-respecting design choices whilst designing playful experiences into future AI systems.
Participants will be asked to register for the workshop ahead of time. It first presents a consent form for allowing the organizing team to analyze the conversations and use for future outcomes and community guides within academic circles. Signing the consent form is not mandatory, but appreciated.
