Reflection: My three artifacts reflect my ability to analyze academic political works and apply them to arguments and real-world political contexts as I look forward to a career path in policy. My paper on Korematsu v. United States reflects my capability to decipher complex legal langauge and arguments and convert them to simple language that makes such information for accessible for people outside of the legal space. Through my Analyzing the Endurance of Monarchy in the Middle East, I strengthened my ability to analyze various sources from differing perspectives and put them in a relevant conversation with one another about the political state system that currently predominates that region. Lastly, my research on the Death Penalty in America showcases my ability to analyze data, both qualitative and quantitative, from varying kinds of sources and converting that analysis into an argument that our country practices a system that punishes people who may be innocent. Overall, this growth supports my long term goal of policy analysis by preparing me to analyze various sources and convert that information and data into tangible policy solutions.
