About Me

My name is Lyndie McGraw. I am a senior studying Health Services Management in the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health at Indiana University Purdue University-Indianapolis. As a professional, I want to become a strong leader within the long-term care industry that advocates for high-quality care for the elderly population. I want to progressively work my way up to becoming an Executive Director of a long-term care facility so that I am able to help benefit the long-term care industry and its residents and staff.

Why Health Services Management?

I chose to major in Health Services Management, because I have always had a passion for working in healthcare and for working with the elderly population. I started working at a long-term care facility a few years ago, and it inspired me to look into non-clinical career fields in healthcare which led to me the Health Services Management program at Indiana University Purdue University-Indianapolis. Overall, I have always known that I wanted to work in healthcare, but I knew that a clinical career was not the best fit for me. Therefore, getting a degree in Health Services Management will allow me to pursue my dream career in the healthcare field and still help better the lives of patients from an administrative standpoint.
