Welcome! My name is Melissa Thomas and I am currently double-majoring in Community Health and Public & Professional Writing, with a minor in Health Communication, as a sophomore student at IUPUI. In the future, I would really love to obtain an international fellowship related to health literacy. This year, I interned with Dr. Megan McHenry at the Ryan White Center for Pediatric Infectious Disease and Global Health, who studies HIV among children in Kenya. I am lucky to have further developed my combined communication and public health skills while assisting her as a technical writer in scientific manuscripts, grant proposals, and marketing materials. I am also working as a consultant at the University Writing Center. I have created this site to share my valuable experiences with Dr. McHenry.
