About Me

Teamwork

I am very understanding of my role as a team member and diligently work to achieve my duties to the best of my ability. I'm very organized and always hold myself accountable. Along with great communication skills and a positive attitude, I find it very easy to commit to a team and give my all. As a team member at my site, I understood and appreciated that the environment was efficient and productive. I was able to play an equal role on the team as others with my project. As a professional, I am knowledgeable about the topics pertaining to my project. I also am very respectful to the people I work with and dedicated to my responsibilities in the lab. I consider myself to be trustworthy, or reliable, when it comes to my commitments. I have spend this past year at my internship site building on these skills and making sure I can be helpful to others.

My Experiences

I believe my dedication, along with my communication and organization skills, are my biggest strengths. I have identified a couple new strengths during my time at my internship site. I have great adaptability skills, which came in handy at my internship site as it's a totally different experience than what my major entails. I also identify my determination as a strength. Although I started off a bit rocky at my internship site, I was determined to finish strong and make the most out of my experience in the lab. I mostly enjoy working independently, but I found that working on a team can be more efficient and fun. Due to my past jobs, I've come accustomed to working in fast-paced environments, but I do like to work in more calming settings.

My first ever job was at a movie theater. This is where I learned how important teamwork is to complete a task. It's always better to work together as a group to reach a common goal than to carry all of the weight on your own shoulders. This experience taught me that in order to be a good team member you have to have a positive attitude. I also worked at a retail store called Rue21. This job was one of my favorites just because of the team that I was on. We all worked hard to run the store and this taught me a lot about respecting others on the team and offering help to those in need. There is no such thing as a team without respect. I'm currently employed outside of campus as a caregiver. This job taught me that teamwork comes in different forms. Being a part of a team means doing your specific duties and communicating with other members of the team. This means that you don't have to see your team members every day, but there should always be a line of communication. I don't see, or meet, with my team members for my caregiving job, but I know how important my role is in the organization. As a future nurse practitioner, I know how important it will be to know how to effectively work on a team. Most healthcare settings wouldn't operate adequately without a good team supporting each other, and I think a lot of my past jobs have taught me how important that is.
