Hello, I am Jala Nolen (Jay-la). I am a psychology major at IU Indianapolis. My career goal after graduate school is to be a clinical psychologist, specifically within the research field. I was an intern at the IU School of Medicine within the department of psychiatry as a research intern. I will be sharing my educational and professional development on this site.
As a psychology major, I have learned a variety of topics related to the human mind and behavior. The continued need for research and understanding of substance use and mental health concerns are topics I am most excited to explore. As I continue into the field of psychology, I hope to focus my research within the adolescent population as they are a vulnerable community who cannot always advocate for themselves. It is important to understand and hear the perspectives of this age group.
