IUPUI, Graduate of 2025: Me! Hailey Wilson :)
In the future, I want to run a business. For the longest time, I have wanted to own a dispensary and maybe a bakery/soup kitchen. As I'm progressing through school, my wants are becoming a bit hazy. One thing I know for sure is that I want to be in a position where I can take in people in less-fortunate circumstances; I want to be able to help them get on their feet. I want to be able to give them a job, feed them on the clock, and help them find solid ground if they want that opportunity.
Living in Indy the past few years has opened my eyes to the homelessness epidemic of our country; if I can do anything about it once I've established a career for myself, I'd be really happy with the progress I've made as a person.
I am very much a family oriented person. The family you make for yourself is one of the only real things you get in life; cherishing these connections is so important to me.
My father passed away in my senior year of high school. It was one of the hardest things for me; I didn't want to move forward or come to college. I saw it through and came to school because that's what he wanted for me. He lives on in me everyday; the lessons he taught me, the way he raised me, the woman he helped me to become. He is a lot of the reason I have become so compassionate and caring. I say all of this because he has inspired me to become the best person I can be. To help everyone I can help. To inspire others where I can.
I'm hoping that I'm doing all of that, one day at a time.
