I am most excited about growing as a professional because this my first job and I'm very excited to gain hands-on experience.
The internship can help me get a better understanding of health related problems and how to prevent them. Since doctors and other medical professionals are a part of the ECHOs, I get to speak with them one on one and learn about health issues that aren't typically discussed.
As an intern, I have learned how to use constructive criticism to enhance the quality and prevent errors in my work. Overall, I feel much more confident about working and have developed my communications skills.
The Workplace
Through my internship,
I developed my ability to provide constructive feedback and apply it to make corrections.
Picked up some really useful teamwork abilities including leadership, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Some places where I want to improve are how to identify case presenters and how to make a case flow chart.
I now know how to collaborate with people and positively receive their criticism.
I have discovered that I actually love working with people who have more experience than me and with people who share my perspective since I feel more at ease asking questions and comprehending the job.
My internship experience has greatly met my expectations. I've been learning a lot and connecting with new people, which is something I was really looking forward to.
Successes & Challenges
I struggled to manage my time when I initially started the internship. Over time, however, I have learned how to balance work and school.
I always made sure to ask questions and obtain assistance when I didn't understand the tasks, which truly helped me to accomplish my goal.
In the past three months, I have not only improved my skills but also been able to do these jobs more quickly.
The hardest part of my internship was getting used to the tasks because they demanded a great deal of attention to detail.
I'm confident that by continuing to ask questions and communicate during the spring semester, I'll be able to succeed during my internship.
