I am a first-year nursing student at Indiana University School of Nursing with a minor in health psychology. My long-term goal is to become a Nurse Practitioner with a concentration in psychiatry. I will be interning for ICARES Research Assistants, Dr. Ann Kimble-Hill and Dr. Peggy Stockdale. My direct mentor on this research project is Dr. Jessica Kiebler. The research is based on eradicating sexual and racial mistreatment of students in undergraduate and post-grad settings, and I specifically will be delving deeper into how sexual harassment can affect sleep quality.
Egypt A'mievi Rettew
Hello! My name is Egypt Rettew. I enjoy going to church, trying new foods, and astrology. My pronouns are she/her. I am currently a sophomore pursuing my bachelor of science in nursing with a minor in health psychology. For work, I am currently a student intern as well as a reliable nanny for 3 families. My end goal is to become a Nurse Practitioner with a concentration in psychiatry (perhaps peds).
Over this past year, I have gained a plethora of skills. I've learned how to navigate and communicate within professional settings. I've run participants in a research study. I've learned to analyze and simplify research articles, and lastly, I've learned how to create an article review about multiple articles. The greatest thing I've learned is the importance of research and how it can be incorporated into my career as a nurse.
