Hands-on learning and scientific study to better understand our Earth's past, present, and futureĀ
Collect and interpret historical, current, and forecast data about the geology, weather, and climate of Earth
Interested in fossils? Extinctions? Rivers and landscapes? Earthquakes? Volcanoes? We do that.
Want to be a meteorologist? Study extreme weather? Work on climate change? We do that, too.
Want to study water quality, pollution, or assessment and remediation? Yep, that too.
We offer both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees, and provide specialized training for students who are interested in the study of: minerals; energy; geochemistry; earth history; weather and climate; and environment and more. Our graduates go on to careers with federal and state agencies, research laboratories, and in postsecondary education.
Masters degrees require the completion of a thesis or research paper, and the Ph.D. requires the completion of original research by way of a public dissertation defense.
