Kids Healthcast is a child health-focused podcast hosted by IU pediatric residents. Offering informative discussions on various health topics that interest parents. This year, the podcast has upgraded to new equipment, promising its audience a higher quality listening experience. To amplify their reach interns actively manage social media accounts. When episodes are up to date interns have the opportunity to join group sessions at the Community Pediatric rotations. Which allows interns to enrich their professional growth and community connections.
Final Project Presentation:
My current strengths as a team member are problem-solving skills. In this internship, it is important to have knowledge about editing recording. Although I did not know much at the beginning, I have learned how to solve problems I have faced. For example, working with a new editing program and learning how to use the computer.
I want to grow in my leadership skills as a professional and teammate this year. Which I have obtained from editing and keeping up the podcast recordings. I would like to continue to grow in these skills because knowing how to be a good leader is essential.
By meticulously editing podcast episodes, I ensured that our content was of good quality and ready to upload. Which allowed us to get caught up. Allowing us to obtain new equipment that will enhance the podcasting experience.
Working with people who have diverse perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds has been enriching. It has broadened my understanding of creativity and innovation in problem-solving. We can approach challenges from multiple angles, leading to more effective solutions for the team.
I felt a great sense of accomplishment when we successfully caught up with editing some old podcasts and were able to publish them. It felt great to see some progress. The collaborative effort with the intern and support from our supervisor played a crucial role. For example, when my partner did not have time to do some editing or vice-versa I would do it for them. Our supervisor helped us by inviting a professional podcaster to help with recordings and to learn about the new equipment.
Learning about podcasting has been both exciting and challenging. Navigating through unfamiliar equipment and software at the beginning was challenging. After we had caught up we faced a new challenge, which was ordering new equipment and software. It has been a challenge but we've had help from an experienced podcaster. It is a challenge that will ultimately enhance the podcasting experience for myself and listeners.
