About the Internship

~ MRI Mask~

My internship site  mainly works with MRI images.  The goals is to develop novel quantitative MRI techniques and analysis methods on CNS and musculoskeletal system.  Some of the research groups have developed advanced MRI techniques that help detect the early change of Multiple Sclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease. They do this by using mapping techniques.

Strengths and Growth:

One of my major strengths is my ability to learn. At first, mapping the MRI images were hard but after some practice it became easier. Another strength would be communication. I communicate with my internship members on the different tasks and this helps with clarity. Overall , I would say that my role didn't really change much. I would say that I was given more work to do and with less supervision now that I understand what to do.

A place I wanted to grow would be in my time management. Even-though my internship site doesn't stress time , I wanted to use my time efficiently to get more work done. Overall, I would say I grew better communication, leadership, and teamwork skills throughout my time as an intern. As far as time management, I would say it's gotten better but I still want to improve.

Overall Contributions:

Overall, the masks that me and other interns created were used to collect data and improve MRI imaging which is the general goal of my internship site. With this, i've learn't that diffrent perspectives bring diffierent solutions to a problem/ways to reach a goal. Having to work with other people to make the masks taught me that there is more than one way to do something and possibly even a better way to reach the same goal.
