2. When and where will the hackathon take place?
Details about the location of the hackathon will be announced by the organizers at a later time.
Participants
1. Who is it for?
Open to all Singapore students aged 15 to 25 years from local and international schools including Upper Secondary, ITEs, JCs, MI, NAFA, SOTA, Polytechnics and all Universities.
Open to students from all disciplines and faculties
No coding experience needed
Prior hackathon experience not necessary
Attractive prizes for winning teams and certificate of participation for all participants
2. How do I register for the Hackathon?
You can sign up via the form here. Closing date: 23 July 2023
Successful applicants will be notified via email and WhatsApp.
3. Is there a registration fee to participate in the hackathon?
No, there is no registration fee for participants.
4. Can I participate as an individual or do I need to be in a team?
You can join as either. We will match indivudals to a team.
5. What kind of prizes can I win?
There is a certificate of participation for all participants and we are in the process of sourcing prizes for the winning teams.
Mentors
1. What are the responsibilities of a mentor?
Mentors play a key role of providing feedback and guiding the Hackathon participants. Your role includes understanding the problem statements and guiding the participants as they generate ideas and solutions. This includes, being able to:
Translate and break down the problem statements
Direct ideas and solutions towards addressing the challenge
Answering participant questions
Ensure the participants stay on point.
Keeping track of time and event schedule
Identifying the person who is going to pitch the project
Assisting in the division of roles within the team
Helping teams if they are feeling stuck at any stage
General advice, encouragement and act as a sounding board
2. What are the prerequisites to become a mentor?
Mentors with prior experience in mentorship, workshop and/or hackathon facilitation preferred.
Age 26 years and above
Technical experience not required
Available on both days, 26 and 27 August, 9am to 6pm
3. What kind of support will be provided to mentors?
Mentors will have access to all necessary resources, including the venue, Wi-Fi, and any necessary equipment. They will also have the support of the organizers throughout the event.
4. Will I receive any compensation for being a mentor?
Mentors will not receive any financial compensation for their services. However, they will have the opportunity to network with other professionals and gain valuable experience in mentoring and coaching.
5. Can I bring my own team to the hackathon as a mentor?
Yes, mentors are welcome to bring their own teams to the hackathon. However, they should disclose this information to the organizers to ensure a fair and transparent judging process.

Volunteers
1. What are the requirements for volunteering?
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and above. They should be responsible, reliable, and able to work well in a team.
2. I am unavailable on 26 and 28 August. Can I still volunteer?
Yes! Other than in-person volunteering opportunities on 16 and 17 June, we have remote volunteering options available. This can include and are not limited to the following:
Participant management and matching
Mentor management and matching
Sponsor management
3. What is the time commitment required for volunteering?
Depending on the role assigned, volunteering commitment would average about 2 hours a week
4. Am I able to claim volunteering hours for my school?
