FAQs

1.  How Can I Participate?

There are many ways individuals and groups can get involved in this year's Christmas Drive:

2. Who Are the Gifts For?

These gifts are for the amazing migrant workers of Singapore, who help build, maintain, and keep our city clean and beautiful. Since all gift recipients are men, please consider this when selecting and bringing your items.

3. Do We Need to Gift Wrap Our Presents?

Yes! Our goal is to get as many gifts out as possible, so streamlining the process is key. Feel free to get creative with handwritten messages and doodles to make each gift unique and personal!

We also have other unwrapped items available for gift wrapping at the store, so you can pick up more gifts to wrap and spread even more joy.

4. What Is a Wrap Party?

We will be hosting Wrap Parties daily from 29 November to 31 December, from 11am to 5pm at inspIRRe. Please note, we will be closed on selected days for corporate events.

Feel free to bring your wrapped gifts or wrapping supplies, but if you don't have anything to bring, don't worry—just come as you are and join us in packing and wrapping the gifts!

We will add you to a WhatsApp group chat during the week of your registered slot so we can share more details and answer any questions you may have.

4. What Type of Gift Wrapping Is OK?

Feel free to use any type of wrapping you like—whether it's shiny wrappers, brown paper with bows, or even newspapers and magazines that can be made to look festive. We encourage the use of eco-friendly and sustainable materials whenever possible.

Please remember to label each gift (a small post-it note or a handwritten label in the corner is perfectly fine) so we can easily identify the items when it’s time to distribute them. This helps us stay organized and ensures every gift goes to the right person.

5. Do I Have to Wrap Each Gift Individually?

Please wrap the gifts as you intend to give them to each person.

For example, if you plan to give each worker a T-shirt, please wrap it individually. Similarly, if you're gifting a T-shirt and a data card bundle to one worker, feel free to wrap them together as a bundle. This helps us ensure that each gift is distributed correctly and with care.

6. Can We Give Pre-Loved Items?

NEW ITEMS ONLY, please. While we do collect pre-loved items at other times of the year, for this Christmas drive, we want to focus on spreading joy with brand new gifts. These are items that migrant workers may not have the opportunity to buy for themselves, and we want to make sure they feel extra special this holiday season.

7. What Is the Wishlist?

Here’s a list of items we’re collecting for the Christmas Drive:

Please note: All gifts must be NEW.

If you plan to donate anything outside this list, please clear it with us first. The workers have limited storage space, so we prefer to give them items they will truly use and enjoy. Larger items may not be practical for them, so we aim to select gifts that are both useful and manageable.

8. Are There Any Minimums for Donation?

There is no minimum donation—contribute to our fundraiser in any amount you wish! The fundraiser link will be available starting 29 November.

Similarly, there is no minimum number of gifts you need to drop off. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference, and we are grateful for your support!

9. I Am Arranging a Collection with Family and Friends. Can You Pick Up from Me?

This is one of our largest drives of the year, and with multiple areas to coordinate, we rely entirely on volunteers to make it all work. As such, we hope you understand that we are unable to arrange pickups. We kindly ask that you drop off your presents at inspIRRe or at one of our designated collection points nearby.

10. I Am from a Corporate Entity Interested in Running a Collection for My Office.

That's great! Please contact us via email at inspirre@itsrainingraincoats.com so we can best tailor a programme for your needs.

11. I Am Out of Town or Otherwise Not Able to Buy and Donate Gifts. Can I Make a Cash Donation Instead?

You can order items online from retailers like Amazon or Decathlon and have them sent directly to inspIRRe at 217 Henderson Road, #03-07.

Alternatively, if you prefer, you can donate to our Christmas fundraiser. The funds raised will be used to purchase essential items for migrant workers, as identified by ItsRainingRaincoats. Your generosity helps make this holiday season brighter for those who need it most!
