Groove for Good is a community initiative that aims to provide free guitar lessons to migrant workers in our community. We are also collecting donations of guitars and other equipment to support this program.
Anyone who has a passion for music and wants to make a positive impact in their community can participate. There are many ways in which you can get involved this year:
Sign up as a teacher
Sign up as a matchmaker, teacher management or student management volunteer
Donate guitars and other equipment to us. This includes strings, pick, music and guitar stand, metronome, tuner.
Contribute to our fundraiser
If you are interested in volunteering as a guitar teacher, you can fill out the volunteer form on our website. We welcome volunteers of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced.
No, teaching experience is not necessary. All you need is a passion to contribute!
That's okay! We also accept donations of other equipment such as tuners, picks, and strings. You can also volunteer with us as well. Every little bit helps!
If you have a guitar or other guitar equipment (strings, picks, music/ guitar stand, etc) in excellent condition to donate, please contact us at 81018187. We will assess its suitability and you can drop them off at our inspIRRe store at 470 Upper Paya Lebar Road daily between 10am to 5pm.
Please only drop off the donation only after receiving confirmation from IRR that we can accept your donation!
If you are interested in helping match volunteers and teachers, please fill out the volunteer form here and indicate your interest in this role. We will provide training and resources to help you become an effective matchmaker. This role can be done remotely.
The level of commitment required depends on the role you choose.
For volunteer teachers, we would encourage teaching at least one slot a month. Teaching lessons will take place at our charity store, inspIRRe, located at 470 Upper Paya Lebar Road and each slot will be 2 hours approximately. Teacher volunteers will be paired as much as possible
Volunteers helping with matching, volunteer and worker management may have a more flexible commitment and can be done remotely.
Volunteers must be at least 17 years old and above. They should be responsible, reliable, and able to work well in a team.
