The FIRST Tech Challenge is an educational robotics competition born in the early 2000s within FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), an organization founded in 1989 in the United States by inventor Dean Kamen.
Participants design, build, and program a robot from scratch, aiming to take on a different challenge each year. The teams work like real tech startups: they plan the project, test solutions, solve real problems, and collaborate under pressure during races. In addition to the technical aspect, the FTC promotes core values such as cooperation, inclusion, creativity, and personal growth.
Students develop practical skills in STEM, communication, time management, and problem solving, concretely preparing for the university and professional world.
The FIRST Tech Challenge is not just a race, but a comprehensive training experience that stimulates a passion for technology and innovation.
