Between 23rd September and 25th September, Mr Antonio Croce, a Biology teacher that works at the I.T. “Giulio Cesare Falco”, took part in the first transnational project meeting for teachers on behalf of the school. The meeting was held in Sistranda, on the Norwegian island of Frøya and was organised by the partner school “Frøya Ungdomsskole”.
In the course of the event, the teachers from the schools that participate in the project had the chance to know each other and discussed the objectives and the activities to implement. After a visit of the hosting school, during which the foreign guests were invited to attend some of the classes taught at Sistranda, the teachers reached a research centre, the Mausund Field Station (Mausund Feltstasjon), by ferry, where a few Norwegian students did some fieldwork and collected plastic ocean waste.
In order to highlight the economic importance of fishing in Norway, the teacher that organised the activities, Ms Inga Andruskiene, also took the guests to a fish farm.
On the last day of the meeting, the teachers talked about essential details of the project, such as the schedule of the Learning Teaching Training (LTT) activities, the accommodation of the visiting students, and the dissemination of the results. The discussion was followed by a meeting with a group of Norwegian students that were interested in taking part in the mobilities and by a special job shadowing experience. The visiting teachers took part in a class based on MOT, a learning program that aims at enhancing inclusion and self awareness. Finally the school sport complex, including a football field and a climbing wall, was shown to the group of foreign teachers
