What is an interactive team?
An interactive team is when team members directly interact and coordinate with each other in order to perform successfully, but teams only succeed if players are very aware of each other in terms of position, communication (verbal and non-verbal).
Interactive teams include sports such as: Basketball, football, netball and rugby
A sporting example of an interactive team is Manchester City. This is because they always make sure that they are communicating effectively so that they perform in a better way.
What is a coactive team?
A coactive team means that there is no direct interaction between team members during the performance so the members are required to achieve success in their individual games, events or performances to achieve overall team success.
Coactive teams play Individual sports such as swimming, running, golf and gymnastics.
A sporting example of a coactive team is the United States swim team. This is because they all do the same sport. However, they do not use communication in order to compete as it is all done individually.
