The scale of the problem is high. The current approaches to the targeted problem are ad-hoc and are based on experience. The solution is viable. Some training for the operators (nurses) would be required. The solution is compelling. Access to the internet and unavailability of power may be possible problems.

We have had the pleasure of working with team Medi Assess, and are very proud of their dedication and passion. They quickly identified the issue of lack of triage and high wait times in local hospitals in Mumbai and sought to develop a solution that is grounded in a deep understanding of the problem. We believe that their rapid triage system has the potential to improve resource allocation, reduce the administrative burden on clinicians, and promote safety during events like the current COVID-19 pandemic. If deployed, we suspect that Medi Assess’s solution has the potential to revolutionize the efficiency of the Indian healthcare system.

The pandemic has clearly shown the small capacity and inequity of healthcare systems worldwide. Team Medi Asses’ triage system addresses the most complex and life threatening issues we are dealing with today. By technology in a creative manner, they will save millions of lives. We had the pleasure of working with them at the early stages of their design thinking process and it was humbling and inspiring to see their passion towards improving the healthcare system in India.
