Team that wins 2 out of 3 doubles matches gets 1 team point
Singles
Best 2 out of 3 sets, with a full 3rd set. However, once a dual match has been clinched, any singles matches that extend to a third set will play a 10-point super tie-breaker
*All matches will be played out, except on Sunday when clinch-clinch will be utilized to accommodate travel
Officials Coverage: Dual Matches at 2026 ITA Women’s National Team Indoors will have 3 officials for each match. This will allow for the Doubles segment to be chaired & the Singles segment will have one official per two courts.
Ball Change: Dunlop Grand Prix Extra Duty tennis balls will be used throughout the event. The ball change is three balls per doubles set and one new can for singles with a second new can in the case of a third set.
Match Day Warm-Up Courts: Each team will receive 3 warmup courts for a minimum of 30 minutes prior to their match time. For the first matches of the day (9:00 AM) teams will be permitted to warm-up for no more than 1 hour.
Practice Courts: Thursday, February 26th: Thursday’s practice session is provided courtesy of Sewanee. Each team is guaranteed 3 courts for 1.5 hours. Please contact John Shackelford by January 1, 2026 for more information on practice courts and to reserve your team’s practice slot. Coaches should come equipped with their own tennis balls for practice the first day.
*Additional Practice Courts: Should programs want extra practice court time outside the assigned times on Thursday contact the Farm and Forge club directly (901) 636-2700. Extra court time is NOT covered by the host institution & is an expense of the program requesting it.
Stringing: Stringers will be available at The Farm and Forge Club . The cost of stringing is $25 per frame (programs provide string).
Coaches Meeting: This mandatory meeting will be held virtually via Google Meet on Tuesday, February 24th at 12:00 PM EST for one hour in conjunction with the lineup protest call.
Player Hospitality: Limited bottled water and individually packed snacks will be available. Please plan on meals & additional food/beverage elsewhere.
Athletic Training: An athletic trainer will be available at Leftwich throughout the event, including Thursday, February 26th. Trainers will be available one hour prior to the first match time and through the end of match play each day. Please bring your own tape/supplies if your players have a known injury.
Team Selection Criteria: The top 7 nationally ranked teams from the final 2024-25 ITA National DIII Women’s team rankings received invitations. In the case of any declines invitations were extended to the next highest ranked team(s). The Host Institution, Sewanee receives a Wild Card Entry into the event regardless of ranking.
