Player Eligibility:
Players must be 18 years of age prior to participating in the USTA League program.
Any individual who progresses to championship level in the USTA League Tennis Program must be a USTA current member through each championship progression.
The minimum NTRP Level for 5.5 is 2.5, 6.5 is 2.5, 7.5 is 3.0, 8.5 is 3.5, 9.5 is 4.0. ITA Regulation 11.G(2).
Combined NTRP rating of levels of partners shall not exceed the team NTRP level.
NTRP rating level difference between partners shall not exceed 1.0.
MATCH REQUIREMENTS:
All Players: A player is eligible to advance to an Intermountain Section Championship competition if that player has played on the advancing team in at least two (2) matches from local play through District Championships. A maximum of one (1) default received by the player during local league competition shall count for advancing. A retired match shall count for all players involved.
TEAM ELIGIBILITY:
A minimum of six (6) team members (three women and three men) who were on the final roster of their local league team roster must be available and eligible to combine and compete.
Teams that do not have the minimum number of players required at the start of the tournament are subject to a Championship Grievance being filed by the Championship Committee.
MINIMUM NUMBER OF PLAYERS:
Each team participating in the Championship must have available and eligible to play a minimum number of required players who were on the team's final roster. Any captain who attends a Sectional Championship without the minimum number of players able and eligible to participate may have a grievance filed against him or her which may result in suspension from league participation for the captain and/or any team members at fault as determined by the Section League Grievance Committee. This decision may be appealed to the ITA Section League Grievance Appeal Committee.
SHARED PLAYERS:
While players are permitted to play on more than one team ( as long as they are different NTRP Levels i.e. 6.5 and 7.5) NO ACCOMMODATIONS will be given with the schedule. Matches WILL NOT be held if the shared player has not finished their match in the other divisions. Teams are expected to have the minimum number of players required for this championship without counting on the shared player.
PLAYER ID CHECK:
Tournament staff may conduct random checks of player ID at time of check-in for matches. Be sure your players know to have ID with them at all times. If the player is without ID when asked for it he/she will be asked to provide it before they can be sent on the court.
