I decided to explore the culture of Finland because of my ancestral history. My family is from Finland, with my grandfather and grandmother being born in Finland, and moving to the US as teens. Finland is a country in Scandinavia, with stereotypes of being standoffish. However, the culture is rich, and the people are welcoming. Learning the culture of a new country is important, and has taught me a lot about myself, and about my own history and culture.
