Accommodation for Newcomers
1. For Married Students with Family Members
ISU Housing is the most convenient and affordable option for married students and their families. There are two types of apartments available:
Two-bedroom apartments: Ridge Crest, McIntosh Manor
One-bedroom apartments: McIntosh Manor, Pulling Courts, University Courts
How to apply:
Apply as early as possible, especially after you receive your Bengal ID and access to the my.isu.edu housing portal. Submit your application based on your housing needs. After applying, you will be placed on a waiting list. The list is updated every 15 days, so check your status regularly. Once you receive an offer for an apartment, you must sign a housing agreement with ISU Housing to confirm your spot.
If you don’t get an offer from ISU Housing:
You will need to find off-campus housing. Several property management companies in Pocatello include Five Star Property, ANR Properties, Axiom Properties, and others. You can also explore rental options on websites like Zillow. Most rentals require a one-year lease, but you can try negotiating for a monthly or six-month lease, which may increase the rent. Before signing any lease, ask current students about their experiences to avoid surprises.
2. For Single Students or Married Students Living Alone
The best option is to live off-campus, preferably through Five Star Property, as it is close to campus — about a 5 to 10-minute walk. Keep an eye on their rental listings for available single rooms. When you find one, apply quickly and sign the lease if accepted.
Other off-campus options include:
