We are excited to introduce to you our upcoming FLL Robotics program for the months of October-December. What FLL teams accomplish is nothing short of amazing, fun, and adventure. The skills students learn will last a lifetime. FLL is an international competition organized by FIRST for students ages 9–14. Each year, FIRST LEGO League introduces a scientific and real-world challenge for teams to focus on and research. The robotics part of the competition involves designing and programming LEGO Mindstorm robots to complete tasks. The students work out solutions to the various problems they are given and then meet for regional tournaments to share their knowledge, compare ideas, and display their robots.
Grades:
4th-8th
Our FLL Tigers team competes on three fronts:
Robot Game – design, build, and program a robot to autonomously complete a series of missions around this year’s theme: “Super Power”
Project – identify a problem, research/develop an innovative solution, interview professionals, create an entertaining presentation of your work, and share the team's innovative solution with the community/ world
Core Values – demonstrate teamwork and the other FLL Core Values
FIRST LEGO League teams get to:
Research challenges facing today’s scientists
Design, build, test, and program robots using LEGO® MINDSTORMS®technology
Apply real-world math and science concepts
Learn critical thinking, team-building, and presentation skills
Participate in tournaments and celebrations
Understand and practice Gracious Professionalism®
