Poetry as a Type of Communication

Statement of Inquiry: Through poetry, we use self-expression through writing by using creativity to communicate a message to an audience.

In this unit, students learn about different types and styles of poetry from around the world. In Language & Literature class, students choose a type of poetry and a piece of text and create Blackout poems. In Language Acquisition, students translate their poems into the target language and present their poems to the class.
