• Relocated more than 50 miles and changed schools due to their family’s relocation

• Currently have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0

Fifteen Scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $2000 each. We encourage applications from all Iredell - Statesville High Schools- CCTL/CATS/Early Colleges. Scholarships may be awarded to multiple graduates from each school.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

In order for an applicant to be considered for a scholarship, the following information must be received by the Kiwanis Club of Statesville Scholarship Committee on or before FRIDAY, MARCH 20, 2026 at 5:00PM.

• Completed and signed Kiwanis Club of Statesville Scholarship Student Application &; Guidance Office Recommendation Form (MUST RETRIEVE FROM MRS.MORGAN IN THE COUNSELING CENTER!!), including copy of current transcript, and a letter in their own words giving an explanation of their planned career choice, course of study and reason for applying for a Kiwanis Club of Statesville Scholarship.

• Two (2) letters of recommendation from a teacher in the student’s High School.

• One (1) letter of recommendation from someone in the community who can attest to the student’s personal character.

Scholarship recipients ARE REQUIRED to attend a regularly scheduled Statesville Kiwanis Club evening meeting upon graduation to receive their Scholarship Award. Meeting date, location and time will be included in the initial awards letter presented to the student at the school Senior Award Ceremony.

(Accepting the Challenge of Excellence) Scholarship Program is a three-tiered competition-Local, District, and National-sponsored by the National Exchange Club, the District, and your local clubs. Students who win at the local level advance to the district competition, with the opportunity to compete nationally for a $15,000 scholarship and a national plaque.

Thomas and Margaret Brantley were devout Christians who also believed in the importance of a good education. They left an endowment to help local students and their families improve their educational opportunities and lighten the load of college studies. The Brantley Scholarships are The Brantley Scholarships are issued annually to active Christians who are graduates of high schools in the southern half of Iredell County.

The Brantley Scholarships are issued annually to active Christians who are graduates of or expecting to graduate this year from high schools in the southern half of Iredell County (those south of highway 150). In addition, applicants must: 

• Have a current GPA of 3.0 or above for the two semesters prior to the application.

• Have, and continue to demonstrate, leadership, excellence of character, integrity, and church and community involvement.

• Be actively involved in a Christian church.

• Be United States citizens.

• Be accepted by an accredited school of higher learning within the United States prior to receiving the award.

Candidates are normally interviewed online or in person by the Scholarship Committee.

Cooking For Christ, a non-profit organization, recognizes graduating high school seniors for community service hours and financial need, by rewarding (2) scholarships valued at (1) $1,500.00 (Winner) and (1) $1,000.00 (Runner-up) each academic year.  This is the third year Cooking for Christ has opened the scholarship to all I-SS high schools.  Scholarship packet MUST be postmarked or hand delivered no later than midnight on March 31st, 2026.

• You currently reside in the United States. (Undocumented applicants are eligible.)

• You were born on or after June 2, 2007.

• You will be starting college for the first time in the 2027–2028 academic year at a: four-year college or university, community college, or trade school. This includes:

  • High school seniors planning to take a gap year
