NC K-3 Reading Assessment - mCLASS

Our K-3 state Literacy assessment is mCLASS - DIBELS 9th edition. As your child's teacher learns more about the information given by this assessment, he or she will be sharing that with you. As always, this information is just a piece of the information your child's teacher will use to plan appropriate reading instruction for your child, along with information they gather on a daily basis during reading instruction.

Math in each grade level is taught in "clusters" (units) throughout the year. Skills and concepts are sequenced developmentally to help build deep math understanding. Your child's teacher will let you know throughout the year which cluster they are working on. Click on your child's grade level to access the parent letter that explains each cluster.
