WTS is an international professional organization dedicated to building the future of transportation through the global advancement of women. Each year the Charlotte Metro Chapter of WTS solicits applications for local and national scholarships. WTS Foundation Scholarship applications must go through a local chapter in order to be considered.

This non-profit scholarship program was established to honor Samuel Hall, an enslaved person who lived in Iredell County, NC, from 1818 until 1855. Scholarships are provided to high school seniors who reside in Iredell County, NC and high school seniors with ancestors who lived on the Hall plantation and reside anywhere in the United States. This scholarship is to empower students achieve their goals by furthering their education.

A new school year means a new journey for students. For many seniors, that includes planning for college—and making a plan to pay for it. Let’s start them out on the right foot with the following free college planning and paying resources, available for you to download immediately:
Also, it’s never too early to start thinking about scholarships! A scholarship that’s quick and easy to apply for is Sallie’s $2,000 No Essay Scholarship. Deadline is November 30th, 2025. It takes less than two minutes to enter, and no essay is required. Better yet, we give a scholarship out monthly, so students can enter every month!

The Judge George Fuller Memorial Scholarship is available to Alexander, Davidson, Davie, and Iredell County high school seniors with an emphasis on academics and need for financial assistance. (A scholarship will be awarded to one senior in each county.)
The Tom Cowden Memorial Scholarship is available to seniors at Davie, West Rowan, and North Iredell High schools. Applicants must be active in community service activities through their church and organizations such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and 4-H.
The Davie County Training School – Central Davie High School Reunion Scholarship is available to high school seniors who are descendants (relatives of) of a Davie County Training School or Central Davie School graduate/attendee.
North Carolina Independent Colleges & Universities (NCICU) is excited to announce the NCICU DIRECT ADMISSION PROGRAM for North Carolina High School seniors with a 2.8 or higher weighted GPA!
Students can visit www.ncicu.org to complete a streamlined application in as little as 5 minutes with no application fee. By answering a few questions, students will hear from each of the participating colleges and universities that they have selected, with information about individual campus requirements, their conditional acceptance, and the availability of financial aid.
We believe having more acceptances to college will help students find their “right fit” and will also contribute to meeting the state’s myFutureNC educational attainment goal. Remember to seize the opportunities presented by the North Carolina Need-Based Scholarship, Federal Pell Grants, and significant Institutional Aid available at NCICU campuses. By prioritizing the completion of their FAFSA, students can unlock essential resources to pave the way for success in college!
