What is Elementary Battle of the Books?

Elementary Battle of the Books (EBOB) is an exciting competition that occurs annually in Iredell-Statesville Schools. EBOB is for 4th and 5th grade students with a strong reading ability. Teachers usually nominate or suggest students. In the Spring, the Iredell-Statesville district competition is held. There, the Harmony team competes against the other elementary schools in the district. Each student must read 15 novels and remember the title and author. The questions for the battle are in a "In which book did 'something' occur?" format. The team then has to recall in which book the detail occurred in. They have to state the title  and author. It is a fun yet challenging competition!

Our 2019-20 team place 3rd in the district competition!! They worked super hard, and it paid off! Our 2022-23 team placed 5th, and our 2023-24 team placed 4th, only a few points away from placing higher.
