Apps and Programs for Remote Learning

  • Your child is familiar with Showbie. When your child logs on to their Showbie account they will go to the math class tab on the left side.
  • You will then see three different colored folders, blue, green and yellow.
  • Blue Folder: This is work that is above a 3rd grade level
  • Green Folder: This is work that is on a 3rd grade level
  • Yellow Folder: This is work that is slightly below a 3rd grade level.
  • On Showbie, students will complete worksheets electronically. I am able to see the work they have completed and leave comments about how they did.
  • I may add links to different videos or Nearpod Lessons
  • There is an app that you can download or you can go to the website. https://www.showbie.com/
  • Your child is also familiar with Nearpod.
  • To access Nearpod I will have to share a lesson code with you.
  • I will try to send Nearpod lessons about 2-3 times a week.
  • Some will be reading and some will be math.
  • I will be able to see what your child has completed and can follow up with them when I video chat with them.
  • The lessons are fun and interactive!

  • Freckle is a program that students can use for math and reading.
  • I will assign lessons to them as part of their work.
  • Students can also work at their level in math and reading.

  • Students are familiar with Edpuzzle.
  • I can assign activities and lesson to students.
  • Edpuzzle are lessons where they watch a video and the video will pause at different places for the student to answer questions.

  • Students know how to use Raz-Kids.
  • This is just an app for reading.
  • I can assign them books to read or have them go to level up.
  • Students will read books on their independent reading level.
  • Students can listen to the story, read the story, and then take a quiz on the book they read.

Optional Additional Apps/Programs

Iready

If your child chooses to log on to iReady, they will have to sign in through Powerschool (find this on ISS website). After they have signed on to powerschool then they will click on the Clever app. Open that with NCEdcloud. Click on Iready.


Prodigy

Kids love this app! It is a math app where students practice math on their level. I sent out their usernames and passwords so they will be able to sign in.

Quizlet

  • Students are familiar with Quizlet.
  • Quizlet is an app where students can practice sets of flash cards.
  • I created sets of Spanish Flash cards with HFW (high frequency words.)
  • They have to learn this words each week.
