Officers are selected each spring for the following school year. All officers must complete an application, submit a resume, and receive 1 teacher recommendation. Ms. Skeens will conduct interviews before appointing officers. Selections will be made, and officers will be sworn in at our annual banquet in May. Ms. Skeens reserves the right to appoint officers as needed.
All FBLA officers should:
Be a member for at least one year.
Have completed at least one level of the Business Achievement Awards (BAA's).
Attend the annual banquet in May.
Attend officer training in June or August
Attend one planning meeting in the 1st week of August.
Be willing to attend the kickstarter in September.
Volunteer during club recruiting day(s).
Attend monthly officer and chapter meetings (either during lunch or after school).
Be responsible, reliable, and have a strong work ethic.
Work well in teams.
Represent FBLA positively & professionally AT ALL TIMES
Be an example of the ideal FBLA member
Be servant leaders to all chapter members
Complete tasks correctly and promptly
Attend all officer and chapter meetings
Work closely with the chapter adviser and help them when needed
Failure to fulfill the duties of your office will result in removal from your position and make you ineligible to apply for office in the future.
President
Meet with adviser weekly to plan meetings and create a program of work
Create chapter officer meeting agendas
Lead officer meetings
Create a slideshow for chapter meetings
Lead all chapter meetings
Create and update the FBLA calendar
V.P. of Communications & Marketing
Manage chapter social media and publicity
Create press releases for local media
Create advertising flyers and emails for chapter events
Assist the adviser with updating the chapter website
V.P of Membership
Develop strategies to maintain or increase membership & increase chapter participation
Facilitate and manage the member of the month recognition
Develop recruitment materials
Create and maintain the chapter credit tracking system
V.P. of Engagement
Lead chapter meetings in the President's absence
Organize chapter activities such as business tours, career development, and social activities
Secure guest speakers and coordinate their visits with chapter meetings and after-school events
Plan activities to help facilitate the completion of the champion chapter
VP of Community Service
Organize and oversee the selected community service projects for the current school year
Plan and coordinate community service opportunities for club members
Organize teacher appreciation initiatives
Secretary
Record the minutes for officer meetings
Record minutes for all chapter meetings
Assist the adviser in creating the chapter's weekly newsletter
Assist the VP of Membership with creating and tracking the chapter credit system
Parlimentarian
Advise the president and other chapter members on parliamentary procedure
Have reference materials about parliamentary procedure available for each meeting
Make sure that chapter meetings are conducted in an orderly manner according to Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised
Historian
Maintain a record of activities to compile into the annual business report
Document and update the program of work throughout the school year
Compile documentation and submit the Champion Chapter challenges (Summer Starter, Shaping Success, Service Season, CTE Celebration, Champion +)

Consult with and guide the President
Provides a historical perspective in the decision-making process
Represent FBLA at appropriate events at the request of the President/adviser
Perform special tasks as requested by the President/Adviser.
