Officers are selected each year in the spring for the following school year. All officers must fill out an application, submit a resume, and get 1 teacher recommendation. Ms. Skeens will conduct interviews prior to appointing officers. Selections will be made and officers will be sworn in at our annual banquet in May.
Ms. Skeens reserves the right to appoint officers as needed.
All FBLA officers should:
Be a member for at least one year .
Have completed at least one level of the Business Achievement Awards (BAA's).
Attend officer training in June.
Attend one planning meeting the 1st week of August.
Be willing to attend the kickstarter in September.
Volunteer during club recruiting day(s).
Attend monthly officer and chapter meetings (either during lunch or after school).
Be responsible, reliable, and have a strong work ethic.
Work well in teams.
Represent FBLA positively & professionally AT ALL TIMES
Be an example of the ideal FBLA member
Be servant leaders to all chapter members
Complete Champion Chapter assignments as assigned by President and/or adviser
Complete tasks correctly and in a timely manner
Attend all officer and chapter meetings
Work closely with the chapter adviser and help them when needed
Failure to fulfill the duties of your office will result in removal from your position and make you inelligible to apply for office in the future.
President
Meet with adviser weekly to plan meetings and create program of work
Create chapter officer meeting agendas
Lead officer meetings
Create PowerPoints for chapter meetings
Lead all chapter meetings
Delegate tasks and submit documentation for Champion Chapter Assignments
Create and update FBLA calendar and FLARE postings
*If in a 5 year co-hort will serve as a Past President on officer team in 5th year
V.P. of Engagement
Lead chapter meetings in President's absence
Organize chapter activities such as business tours, socials, and community service
Secure guest speakers and coordinate their visits with chapter meetings and after school events
Help president facilitate completion of the Champion Chapter or other National engagement initiatives
V.P. of Competitive Events
Recruit new competitors and help them choose an event they can thrive in
Help adviser update FBLA Canvas page with updated competitive events preparation materials
Plan a competitive events preparation night before regionals and state
Attend webinars, workshops, and competive events at conferences to assist with event preparation
V.P. of Communications & Marketing
Manage chapter social media and publicity
Create press releases for local media
Create advertising flyers and emails for chapter events
Document FBLA events throughout the school year
Assist adviser with updating chapter website
VP of Records & Procedures
Advise the presiding officer and other members of Parliamentary procedure
Maintain a record of activities to compile into the annual business report
Document program of work throughout the school year
Assist the adviser and president with FLARE postings
V.P. of Finance
Plan and facilitate completion of all fundraisers
Oversee all fundraisers
Maintain records of chapter dues
Create and maintain chapter budget
V.P of Membership
Develop strategies to maintain or increase membership
Develop strategies to increase chapter participation
Develop recruitment materials
Secretary
Record the minutes for officer meetings
Record minutes for all chapter meetings
Create chapter weekly newsletter
Ensure all members are documenting attendance in Flare.
Past Officers Executive Council Member
Consult with and provide guidance to the President
Provides a historical perspective in the decision-making process
Represent FBLA at appropriate events at the request of the President/adviser
Perform special tasks as requested by the President/Adviser.
V.P. of Security
A dedicated and vigilant German Shepherd, Raven proudly serves as our chapter’s VP of Security. As a loyal service dog, she ensures the safety, comfort, and well-being of everyone around her. Her calm demeanor and sharp instincts make her a natural leader in maintaining a secure and welcoming environment.
While we know she’s absolutely adorable, please remember not to pet her—she’s hard at work keeping us safe and focused. Whether keeping a watchful eye during events or offering a calming presence in meetings, Raven is an invaluable team member.
Members can participate in leadership experiences by serving as grade-level representatives, serving on committees, and planning chapter events.
