Welcome to the ISS International Day, Friday 7th December, 2018
This is the International Day site where you will find all of the event details and information you will need about the day.
The focus of International Day 2018 is ‘Uniting together to take action towards the Sustainable Development Goals.’
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure all people enjoy peace and prosperity (undp.org, 2018). At ISS we are committed to educating students to become global citizens who understand world issues and take action to make the world a better place. In 2018, we made teaching and learning around the SDGs an integral part of our whole school curriculum. We are striving for all students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 to actively engage with these goals in all of their lessons.
International Day 2018 aims to further this education on the SDGs through giving students opportunities for Creativity, Action and Service. To prepare for this event students are creating exciting art-works, cross-cultural performances, and student-led workshops focused around their understanding of the SDGs and what it means to be a global citizen who is committed to the achieving them.
Every year we look forward to having the ISS community (students, parents, guardians, teachers, support staff and the wider community) together in this celebration of culture and internationalism. We hope you enjoy the event.
