The Israelite House of David Archives & Collections is actively organizing and cataloging its extensive collections, which includes materials related to the House of David, communal societies, and local history (limited to Berrien County, Michigan). The staff will assist with research requests to the best of their abilities.
The Archives & Collections are NOT currently open to the public. However, limited self-service research opportunities are permitted by appointment. Please note that we do not offer a paid research service. All research is done by scholars on site in our research library.
Potential researchers are asked to fill out a Research Request Form before being allowed access to the reading room. In-person appointments are not guaranteed and depend on the nature of the research and the availability of staff. The reading room is open by appointment only on weekdays between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. Scholars can access the Research Request Form by clicking the box below.
Please review the Research Request Form in it entirety, including the archives rules on the back, before submitting it via email to our Archivist & Historian, Brian Carroll, at info@israelitehouseofdavid.org
Please Note: Simple requests that can be looked up quickly, such as consulting the House of David's membership records to find out if a relative was once a member of the commune, can simply be sent to the archivist in an email and do not require submitting a Research Request Form.
Photographs & Film Clips
Depending on the nature of the proposed use and the availability of photographs and historical film footage a fee may be charged for any image or film clip obtained. Most photographic images are available at no charge for use in scholarly publications, for only a modest processing fee.
