Learning Goals
Physical endurance and resilience: The demanding nature of the hikes requires students to push themselves physically, building endurance and resilience that can be applied to other challenges in life.
Cross-cultural understanding: Students will have the opportunity to explore different cultures and languages, interacting with locals and fellow hikers along the way. This can enhance their cross-cultural understanding and communication skills.
Environmental awareness: The students will be immersed in some of the most breathtaking natural landscapes in Europe, which may foster a sense of responsibility and respect for the environment. This can lead to greater awareness and a desire to take actions to protect the planet.
Teamwork and leadership: Trekking from hut to hut requires students to collaborate and support each other. They will develop skills in teamwork, leadership, and communication, as well as gain an understanding of their own strengths and weaknesses.
Personal growth and self-reflection: Hiking in nature can be a transformative experience, providing students with an opportunity to reflect on their own lives, values, and goals. It can also build confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of accomplishment that can be carried forward in other aspects of their lives.
