Bake sale profits donated to Red Cross

The Student Council announced the total amount of money raised from our bake sale. This was an amazing €7,000 which has gone to help people in Morocco and Libya after the earthquake. Earlier in the week the Student Council met with the Red Cross and presented them with our cheque

Toy Drive

Student Council

The Student Council is an elected committee whose aim is to represent the “student voice” within the Primary School. At the beginning of the academic year, a student is elected to represent their class, together with a substitute who stands in for the representative in case of absence.

The representatives meet each week to discuss how they can contribute to life in the Primary School, and work closely with the PTA to help organise ways in which the Primary School can also contribute to the wider community.

House teams

At ISM we run a house system that helps to build our community spirit and sense of belonging.  Each student is a member of one of four communities: Baret, Earhart, Grimaldi and Shackleton.

The students are working hard to earn house points in the Primary School: expectations are high, so they have to show exceptionally high standards of work, effort and commitment to achieve this during lessons. Out-of-class times are important too – going above and beyond what is expected through our values is also recognised and encouraged. Students also participate in school-wide activities as part of their house teams.

For the Academic year 2023/24, we have some fantastic large scale community events lined up, including, but not exhaustive:

House Captain Training with King’s College - Thursday 5th October

House No Finish Line - Monday 13th November - Friday 17th November

House Sports Day - Thursday 16th May

Check out the latest HOUSE NEWS here.

Our Captains / Vice Captains 2023/24:

Baret:  Maja 6B / Nathan 6A

Earhart: AnnaMaria 6B / Maksym 6A

Grimaldi: Anna 6C / Anthony 6C

Shackleton: Yaroslava 6B / Augusto 6C

Each House has a student Captain and Vice Captain. The House Captains will help with many of the House activities we have over the course of the year. They may also be asked to help with the collation of House points throughout the Primary School each fortnight.

As the school year draws to a close, the final totals of the Primary School House Points can be found below. Congratulations to all students for their contributions to these totals, with a special mention to Baret for being this year’s Primary House winner!

House Photography Competition

Congratulations to the following students who came first in the House Photography Competition with the theme “Pattern, Texture or Symmetry”, showing originality in their entries:

A special mention also goes to our teacher winner, Mrs Minnis, for her “Peyronet Pottery” – she has given Shackleton an extra boost this week!

Thank you to all the students who took part in this competition, showing off their creative skills and earning points for their houses. All entries, including the winning ones, can be seen on the Primary Google Classrooms.
